Tsunami

Hello,

I'm fine and we are safe...like no worries at all. The Tsunami would hit the opposite coast of where we are, so we'll be ok, but ready to help out the other coast should something happen! But I'm confident that nothing will happen what so ever! Also, I'm having issues with my video posts, so once I figure them out, I'm going to post a massive catch up post, and then get back to the daily posting! Until then...

Lazy Sunday

Well Sunday, was quite a lazy day indeed. I slept in a bit, and to be honest I don't remember much of yesterday, because I didn't quite do much. Tim got back to Heidi's from hanging out with his friends elsewhere in this shiny new city of L.A. I find myself pretending I'll still live here in my "spare thought time." Spare thought time you ask? Well, I'm sure we all do this, but if not, just pretend it's normal and I'll be OK. Spare thought time, is sort of like day dreaming, but the difference is that in-between conversations and even sentences around and to other people, you day dream in those short seconds. I'm weird. Get used to it, you're in for a year of the depths of my mind. Turning back now is not a bad thing and completely understandable, in fact, I may encourage such decisions.
Anyway, I do thoroughly enjoy L.A. and see myself ending up here post New Zealand.

Basically we hung out at Heidi and Sally's (I think I can include Sally now, cause she's awesome). Even more basically, Heidi and Sally are super team awesome and I can't think them enough for letting myself and friends crash at there place.

Scott and Jackie returned around 7ish, and crashed at the apartment, while I went to see Shutter Island downtown with some of my new friends that I made through Heidi's game night/Layne's breakfast jam. Sal, Peter and Peter's roommate Dan met up downtown at the movie theatre(thanks to Sal for picking me up!) The movie was pretty awesome and I had a great time! New friends are awesome, especially when we all love Broken Social Scene!
Furthermore...what? Yeah, Furthermore, Sal took me back to Heidi and Sally's place and we had a great discussion while passing two accidents and getting lost. Sal is a cool dude. Meet him. I promise. I then laid on the floor and tried to sleep quickly learning that we all snore...myself included...yay! Sorry Sally.

way back on Friday Night and then yesterday

So Heidi hosted a game night, and it was fantastic! So much fun, so much fun.
After a wondrous night of sleep, I woke up and fiddled around on my computer a bit as Heidi and her roommate, Sally, finished occupying the bathroom. I then gathered some clean clothes and enjoyed a shower and organized my belongings in my continually challenge of occupying as least space as possible as a guest. Some of the people from game night decided to come back over in the morning for a breakfast, this idea was genius and full of glory. (yay Layne!) So Roy came over in his P.J.'s and then Sal and Peter showed up, and then Layne got here. We all walked over to the grocery store and bought appropriate breakfast making items and then walked back and cooked them. Layne is quite skilled in the culinary arts making french toast and then putting cream cheese and fresh fruit betwixt the toast of frenchness.
Sal and Peter had to hop off to work doing fun things for the Freddy Krueger movie. Roy soon followed in his departure for different ventures. But Layne stayed and was hanging out with Sally having a deep discussion about feminism and such as I was cleaning the dishes, funny right?
We then walked down to a local coffee shop to read, I'd never done that before but it was very nice. Sally went for a hike and would meet us later. But this group reading separately idea was interesting to me. It was nice to all be doing something together but stay focused on our own things, and then when finished we shared ideas about what we'd just read. Also, Heidi fell asleep...Completely exhilarating! BAM, hunger set in, so we went in search of food to find it at a mexican restaurant on the street. Sally met us there and Layne and I shared our burritos with her. Question game, it was fun. Then it was back to Heidi's and a sad good bye to Layne. Yay Nashville peeps!
Heidi and I decided naps were the most logical next step in our day so I passed out on the couch/my bed for the duration of staying here. After awaking, Heidi had to go waitress at this place and I tagged along. HOLY JELLY FILLED DOUGHNUTS! I have a new addition...

That band was incredible, completely skilled in every instrument and vocal talent, just pure awesome.
It was then home and sleep, and now I awoke and had breakfast and started all the bloggerating! yay!

Tim and I walking down Hollywood Blvd.

Ah, L.A. you've welcomed me well

hello, this is my first attempt at a blog.
sort of. i suppose xanga counts all those years ago before myspace and facebook took over, and then facebook beat up myspace and is standing over it waiting to poke it with a knife for the final death blow. i can't promise I'll have perfect grammar or spelling, though i do hold dearly to those ideas...but I'm lazy...you'll be lucky to get daily posts out of me...but this just seems like a fun way to keep in touch with people, and keep them updated.
I'm hoping to also do video blogs as well...so we'll see what happens.
right now I'm in L.A.

L.A. is so far, pretty awesome. I didn't think I would enjoy it much, but it's pretty rad. Last night, we landed in LAX and scampered around to baggage claim, to of course, claim our baggage...after completely that task yet leaving our emotional baggage checked, we scampered about searching for Super Shuttle. While on hold with Super Shuttle not the phone I found a woman in a blue coat with Super Shuttle written on her back, thus I hung up the phone. with in 10 minutes of that conversation we were loading a van with a large amount of luggage and piling into the van heading towards my friend Heidi's apartment in downtown Hollywood! In the van there was a guy from Australia who had been visiting the US for 9 months so far, he gave us two words of advice: "Say yes to everything." and "Visit Byron Bay(in Australia)." Also in the van was a college professor from a school in New York city from London. She teaches English of course, and was a wonderful lady who didn't give so much advice as much as confirmed our suspicions of fun to be had.
It took us about an hour or so to get from LAX to Heidi's apartment but we got in and settled down, and then went to eat at a Chinese restaurant, which may have been the best Chinese food I've ever had. We then headed back to the house for slumber party for a year day 1. It was crowded, but I slept decent on the couch.
This morning I woke up and Scott and Jackie headed off with their friends somewhere north of L.A. that I lack the skills to even google for correct spelling. Then Tim and I went for coffee, I of course got a hot chocolate due to my hatred of said coffee, but had a good morning. We then came back to the apartment just to let our muffin's settle...I had a triple chocolate muffin. During that time, I logged on to Netflix via my computer and watched the last 20 minutes of the season finale of Dexter season 2. Then Tim and I just walked down Vermont Ave. and Hollywood Blvd. We went into various shops and Goodwill of course. Our last stop was to American Apparel, all together awesome! The first face I saw walking in was Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Deb Morgan on Dexter. I was so taken aback because I literally just saw her on my computer screen not more than 40 minutes prior. We both cordially smiled and then I walked one way and wasn't paying attention and she had walked another way and I bumped into her. I smittenly slipped out a "sorry" that sounded more like a "shmorry?" with a definite stare of admiration. She smile/giggled and said excuse me and walked off to the dressing room. I quickly texted a friend, because come on, we all have that friend we text our "OMG! 'this' just happened" moments.
Tim and I walked back to Heidi's and chilled for a bit, I spent my time creating this blog and beginning this very post, then hunger set in and we walked up to the grocery story and bought some sandwiches and I bought soda's and chips for Heidi's game night that she is hosting at her place tonight. Fun shall ensue!
also this is my first video blog that I recorded this morning...enjoy...

skill and better posts to follow.

I'll return a little later limited,
